Elsewhere TV

During a six month special residency, Greensboro based Director and Cinematographer Harvey Robinson and his production company Monkey Whale worked with Elsewhere to co-produce a web based pilot TV series based on a popular improvisation game called CITY that is regularly played at the museum. The series is currently in post production and will launch in 2015.
Elsewhere’s publics were invited to participate in the filming of the series and to contribute to a side documentary project on the role and impact of television in their lives. During a First Friday event at the museum we showcased this documentary segment as part of the public premiere of the project, that included an artist talk with Robinson on the production of the series and a panel discussion with performers. The event was staged as a TV premiere party in which we transformed the museum into a “movie theater” and recorded the event with the idea of integrating some of this footage into the series.
